My name is Leslie and I have been an active LPN for the past 52 years. The past 35 years I have been working with geriatrics. This past January 29, 2023, I finally retired from the full time work force. Before I graduated from high school one of my jobs was a companion for an elderly woman in our neighborhood. I was also a candystriper in our local hospital. I have 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren whom I can't get enough of! My husband of 34 years had a stroke 3 years ago this November and I am his caregiver.

I have always wanted to take care of people my grandmother and greast grandmother were nurses and a mid wife.it is truly a joy to take careof someone that you can help with their bath fix something to eat just being able to help.I can put a smile on a person face. I became a caregiver because I love to help people who can't either help themselves or needs assistance. Also because at the age of 14 I became my mother's caregiver along with my sister and grandmother until I was old enough to take care of my mother on my own for 9 years. What I like about being a caregiver is I know at the end of the day when I go home I have done my job and have made my resident and family happy.
