Im new to Florida I moved here in the end of July 2014 I believe in taking care of those who cannot do so themselves. I have achieved alot in my years from hospice care to critical care .Im a 57 year old male who did hospices from 1985 thru 2020. I obtained my lna license in NH in 2007 and received my license here in Aug 2014 I love what I do and believe home is MUCH better then a rehab or nursing facility its one on one rather then sharing with 15 others. I have received several awards for doing my job as well as i have many references that are available upon request. My last clients were24/7 both husband and wife he passed Jan 2017 and she passed oct 2019 just shy of 90 years old.I did not work in 2020 but resumed with a client in 2021 with end stage Alzheimer's which he just passed feb 8,2022. After obtaining my BA in ED and teaching, I wanted to be able to do more for people and went into the LPN Program and have enjoyed it for well over 25 years. I'm a very caring individual. I am passionate about advocating for those who can not speak for themselves e.i. children, elderly and animals. I was first drawn to being a caregiver, as a teenager, when my grandmother was sick. I provided care for her including open wound dressing changes. I decided to go to school to be an LPN. I graduated in 2012 and obtained my PA license in December 2012. I worked in MedSurg at Williamsport Regional Medical Hospital in Williamsport, Pa before becoming a stay at home parent. I am not licensed in the state of Florida. What I enjoy most about caregiving is getting to know my clients, hearing their stories and being able to help them keep their independence. My name is Melissa , I worked as a caregiver and HHA for my father and uncle for years. My dad was out of the hospital due to COVID and he was on a ventilator and also needed help with everyday tasks I assisted with cleaning, cooking , feeding , bathing, clothing, and day to day. My uncle had a major seizure when he was younger and now he's disabled, I helped him with day to day as well , cleaning , cooking , taking to appointments, playing games and doing activities, bathing , and overall caring for him. He would get violent after having seizures and I had to be patient and understanding I say that because I'm very patient and understanding to all needs and necessities.
