I am 21 years old. I have been a HHA for 5 years. I absolutely love the work field I chose as my career. I am a very smart, intelligent and reliable young lady. I am very respectful of everyone and everything around me.

I enjoy being a caregiver for many reasons but most importantly being around many different types of people you get to learn a lot. I love to hear story's from the family or person I'm caring for . I'm very hands on and love to help . I understand that everyday is different and everyone is different the care is never the same. In order to be a great caregiver you have to love what you do . I don't mind feeding, or helping with showers or making meals . I'm good at emotional support, I don't know everything but my heart is pure and looking forward to my next task

During all of these years I've personally provided & or supervised our wonderful senior community, both men and women with multiple types and disciplines in: "Hands on Home Care, Health & Companion Care, Respite Care and all forms and facets of Private Duty Nursing /Caregiving". Certified Medication Aide is also one of the multiple qualifications I hold, that allow me to assist you. Whilst I am within your home, I can safely administer any and all of your prescribed and or over the counter medications, be it daily or weekly, as prescribed. I've also played an active role in doing Physical Therapy / Occupational Therapy / Recreational Therapy and Speech Therapy Assistance. I can also provide Transportation for any of your Dr. Appointments, Errands and Social and Spiritual Activities, on an prn (as needed basis), whilst I am assisting you. My name Z-dell, I have been a certified nursing assistant for 27 years, and still counting... I'm well rounded I have with nursing homes, assisted living, private duty, hospitals 1:1, mental health, special needs adults and children, autism, cerebral palsy individuals. When you as an individual in the health care field, you have to truly CARE, about the people you are responsible for at the time whom you are giving care to but that's in general in life, you have to LOVE people. And TRUE LOVE come from GOD... We have to place CHRIST first, in all we do, it will make you great at whatever level your expertise is, I will honestly tell you that is why I'm GOOD at what I do as a CAREGIVER.

I am very compassionate and patient, I also always go above and beyond to make sure I am the best caregiver I can be. I have a younger brother who was born with cerebral palsy and I always took care of him without feeling like I had to, that's when I knew what I was meant to do with my life. I started working in a nursing home when I was 16 and and then switched to home health care and I have enjoyed caring for others ever since.

I am attracted to being a caregiver because i enjoy working with people and most enjoy jobs where you have one-on-one interaction with others. Being a caregiver makes me do work that has the potential to make a difference in someone's life. I don't ever say, "that's not my job" but instead like pitching in to do whatever is needed and like making someone smile and doing little things to make a person's day better.I do take pride in your attention to detail. My personal achievement that am proud of is having been selected as the best hard-working caregiver that works well in a team and is willing to learn at all times. I do feel that when am older, i'd want someone like myself there to help you if you need help

I love to listen & learn from elderly people. They have so much wisdom & have lived interesting lives. I love to listen to their experiences. Once I had my back injury ( as an x-ray tech in 2010) I could no longer work 10-12 hr. shifts so I looked for a second career. A friend was doing Home Health Care for a Ms. Helen over the Christmas season & needed time off to be with her family. I was to fill in for 10 days but ended up staying for 4 years until I moved to Florida. I love working 1 on 1 with a person & their family. It is a joy to see them make little improvements along the way or just a big smile or thank you for making their favorite food or meal. My personal achievement is knowing I give 100% to my client & treat them like a family member. My clients have been both females & males. I treat them the same as I would treat my Mom or Dad. I have taken additional classes & have experience with Dementia, Alzheimer & Parkinson clients. Each person is unique in their own way, a real person with feelings & emotions.
