I have about 7 years experience in the healthcare industry. This includes 3 years working in a long term care facility as a cook and also as a CNA. In these classes we practice Yoga and Tai Chi done in and around a chair as part of our body work. Since I am an older person myself and have had a number of health concerns and challenges through the years, I enjoy being able to share what has and hasn't worked for me in regards to my own health and working with the concerns of aging. I have always had "older" friends. Even when I was young I seemed to develop deeper relationships and friendships with aunts, uncles, neighbors and even landlords and employers. Trying to help others to find joy through a deeper connection to themselves, their situation and their lives usually bringsvit's own sense of rewards for me. On a personal note, I enjoy travel, seeing new place and experiences new cultures. I believe by experiencing diversity in its many forms we can begin to see how we are all connected and the oneness we all share. This in turn can help all of us find a sense of our own self and bring meaning to our lives. Often the most important thing we can do for each other is to simply listen and be with each other.
