Please allow me this wonderful opportunity in caring for your precious loved one. I believe I am a great caregiver because I have patience, I am kind, and I show compassion. What originally attracted me to caregiving is when my grandfather got sick, my parents and I took care of him, we set up a hospital bed and we did everything possible for him to be safe, happy, comfortable, and at home. From that period in my life forward I knew this is meant for me. My paternal grandmother is also very sick, she has Alzheimer's disease, which is a very progressive and terrible disease, I know first hand what it's like to be a family member suffering with this person as they loose all recollection of memories. That's why when I got my first I specifically asked to be put on a memory care unit, and I thrive with them. I understand dementia, what it does, the different stages. I seen what it looks like when someone declines, I know the signs and symptoms. I love caring for these people, because I know i make a difference everyday, every smile is a difference. I love helping them everyday, I love making sure they are safely in bed cleaned and changed at night, I strive for it. I am a recent graduate with my Masters in nutrition looking for a part-time job. I have extensive experience in the health care field. I started out caring for a client with Parkinson' s disease for live-in and hourly care. Over my years of experience I worked with clients of various diagnoses: Alzheimer/Dementia, Cancer, Parkinson' s Disease, Gluten Intolerance, Diabetes, Post-Stroke, Cardiovascular Disorders, Respiratory Disorders and more. During my work as a caregiver, I was promoted to a management position as a case manager due to my dependability, punctual, and efficiency. I worked as a case manager overseeing clients care by Interviewing caregivers, training caregivers to meet requirements for the Illinois Department of Public Health Services Worker 8-hours of required in services for the agency to maintain licensing, on-site caregiver training, conducted supervisory visits and more. I feel that with my experience I am qualified to make sure you/your loved one receives superior care.
