After a massive Corporate downsizing, I have changed careers and turned to the Healthcare field. I have over 30 years experience taking care of family and clients, ranging from neonatal, special needs including quadriplegia, to hospice care. The last 20 years have also included dementia/stroke, oxygen, TPN, feeding tubes and post operative care. In addition, I have also been asked by 2 clients to become their personal assistant. This included travel to the grocery store, doctor appointments, downsizing homes, moving packing and unpacking, traveling across country and also property managed my clients home while it was on the market to sell. Hello! My names is Kelsey! I am a mother of two amazing little boys! 3 and 1 I have been in the caregiving industry for a little over 6 years now, I have experienced everything you can think of.. I love what I do, and I enjoy coming in to each of my clients lives, and getting to know them on a personal level! I graduated from Rasmussen college with my diploma in medical assisting in April of 2021, covid had hit and I decided I didn't want to be in the doctors office, rather one on one with a client in caregiving. Being a caregiver has become the most rewarding job. I worked closely with a family the last three years, and being able to provide in home care, and allowing husband and wife to stay together was wonderful. I have 20+years of experience.

I'm a retired nurse with many different areas of experience throughout my medical career. My most favorite experiences have been helping and spending time with geriatrics. I truly enjoy assisting them, sitting and visiting with client, hearing about their stories of their past, or about their family. I'm very respectful, reliable, patient, caring individual. I enjoy cats and dogs. Prefer non smoking.

I believe that I would be a great caregiver because I am passionate. I believe in finishing all tasks to the fullest and in the best form possible. I am also organized which means that I can keep track of any senior's information, medications and preferences. I also encompass empathy which I think is a really important trait to have when taking care of others. It helps you have a better understanding of their situation and how to react in a good manner. I am interested in becoming a caregiver because it is a very rewarding experience. I always find myself empathizing with senior citizens and helping them out when I can. Therefore, I decided to use my free time to do more of such fulfilling and also necessary task. A personal achievement that I am proud of is raising three very successful children. My eldest and youngest daughters are a dentist and a visual rehabilitation counselor respectively. My son is a computer science major. All my children are dedicated to helping others and leaving an impact in the life of others. Those are traits that I have always emphasized for them while growing up and I am proud to see them nourishing.

I am very compassionate about seniors and love helping them so they can stay in their homes longer. I am very patient and have nine years of experience in this field. I started out working as a Caregiver because I've always been a Caregiver in some way or another and quickly realized how much I enjoy working with seniors and how patient I am with them. I know that some days I will be the only face they see so I want to make them smile and make it count. The thing I most enjoy is seeing how happy I make them and knowing not only that they need help but that I am the one who is able to help them. I find this job very rewarding in that aspect. I have had so many clients tell me how it takes a special person to do this job, that I'm definitely one of those people and to never give it up because a lot of people need me. Just hearing those words make me realize I'm doing the right thing and that makes me proud.

I became a caregiver for a few reasons but its two reasons that stand out above all. The first of the reasons was to gain some experience in the medical field because my career goal was and is to be a registered nurse. The experience you gather being a caregiver is valuable, immeasurable, and translates to other job that involves caregiving. The second reason is because I really enjoy caring for people. There is no greater pleasure you can receive than the joy of helping someone in need. I am glad to say I have completed my Associates RN degree program. I am not a licensed nurse at this point but that is the next step in the plan. I am a very hardworking honest and loyal person. I consider my personality a great asset because one of the best non-pharmacological medicines is laughter. I like to lighten the mood and am very easy to get along with and work along side.
