I am a gentle and quiet person, attentive listener, tender hearted, compassionate and deeply caring, professional woman. I assist and provide care for individuals who have been diagnosed with dementia, alhzlmers, bed bound, limited mobility, and disabilities of various kinds. Each and every person I provide care for, I actually care about them and their wellbeing. I have years of experience of attend to people's needs and providing care for them as a former chaplain intern and resident at the University of Kentucky, The United Methodist Children's Home and my local community. My role as a chaplain was mainly to offer emotional support and spiritual care for patients, families, doctors and nurses at a rapid pace. A desire in me began to grow where I wanted to have more time to get to know the clients more and spend more time with them. I enjoy the role of a care giver because I am able to take time to learn about people's needs and attend to them. My heart is filled with joy as a caregiver because I have the time and space to listen to each individual's story, learn about their physical and mental health and assist them with their needs. My vision for being a caregiver is to provide care for each person in such a way that they feel honoured, accepted, noticed, valuable and encouraged in their independence. I am most proud of myself for providing care for infants, the elderly, to those on the day they took their last breath, those without homes or with homes, citizens of the United States and internationals, people of differing faiths or no faith, those with minor health concerns to those in critical conditions, those who struggle with mental health diagnoses to those who do not and a variety of other categories within the past 5 years of my life. I don't take any of those opportunities lightly and am excited about the opportunity learn new care plans and provide care that meets each and every clients need(s).

What makes me a good caregiver is empathy and a caring heart. What attracted me to caregiving was a need for a compassionate caregiver for a family member of my own and what a difference it made in a difficult situation. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is helping people/ families it connects me to others and their gratitude is so rewarding it lets me know I'm doing the right thing. My personal achievement that I am proud of is being a loving mother and wife to my family. I am patient, kind, dependable, and trustworthy.

I was a CNA for about 12 yrs when I was younger and absolutely adored my patients. I had several long term patients as well as doing on call staffing. I currently work in a hospital so you could definitely say I'm a caregiver by nature. I love getting to know new people and hearing the wonderful stories they often tell. I tend to go above and beyond what is needed. Personal achievements-I've raised 4 children (which is a feat!), was a transportation Supervisor for Lextran for 10 years, also taught individuals how to drive straight line large vehicles and prep for CDL, I'm pretty proud of many things in my life and a main one is that I'm a caring person. No patient is a number/client....they are potentially me or my family and I treat them as such.

I had the best example.. my grandmother has been taking care of elderly in her home for over 40 years so she taught me everything that I needed to do this job I feel like God gave me this calling. Everyone that I have taken care of I still remember them to this day. It is a privilege than on a car of a person last moment on her or the last few years.

I Feel like I am a great care giver because I go above and beyond to make patients/residents feel special. I like to help people feel independent while providing all the help they may need to get through their day successfully. I feel its important to take time to listen to their wants and needs and I don't look at my care as being " just a job". Its important to me to take well care of anyone, rather it be driving the students home from school, providing care in a dialysis facility, or just providing basic needs to someone . Hello! I consider myself to be upbeat, nurturing, and patient. These skills are very important to me in being the best caregiver I can be. I became a full time caregiver about 8 years ago, and did it part time for about 12 years prior. My nature is to nurture and I really enjoy and appreciate helping others. I have really good references, I am fortunate enough to stay with my clients long term, usually becoming more like family. I have learned so much from everyone I have had the privilege to help, I treasure a lot of moments through out the years of helping others.

I started out as a SRNA from 2001-2003. Then in 2015 I knew I wanted to get back into caring for the elderly. So I became a caregiver. I absolutely love what I do!
