I wake up everyday with a smile and a heart to please those in need. I'm passionate about providing care to those in need in my community and that motivates me, and makes me excited to do my work!

For two years I believe I have finally found where I belong. I always asked God to direct me to a job where I feel like I'm making a difference. I absolutely love what I do.

What makes me a great caregiver is I don't do my job for the money of it. I do my job because of the passion and love I have to help people. I feel that caring for someone who can't always care for themselves is a blessing and also a chance at making a difference in their life as well. I choose to become a caregiver because I lost my grandparents at an early age both my grandmother's at the age of 12, one of my grandfather's at the age of 18 and the other one past before I was born so I kind of grown attach to others and think of them as one of my own grandparents. May sound odd but that's where I find comfort working with the elderly mostly. I also have a son that has a learning disability, as well as behavior problems so I can understand and also have the patients to deal with people with disabilities. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is putting a smile on all my clients faces and showing them the amount of love and compassion that I do. Letting them know that they are what matters to me the most. My personal achievement that I am proud of is becoming a Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and now I am currently working on becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Hi, my name is Shannon. I am a current resident of the East Baton Rouge area, majority of my life. I have studied at Delta Jr. College for a Nursing Assistant certificate, graduating in '92. I have worked on several units of a hospital setting, home health aide work, and live-in(week on/week off) over a 20 year period performing various tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, to name a few. CNA Certification: I am no longer certified because I wanted to change careers and decided to move on from this profession to Massage Therapy. I studied at Blue Cliff College for a Massage Therapist Degree, graduating in '08 for Massage Therapy. I still continue to hold a license as a LMT with 3 1/2 years experience along with working as an independent Caregiver. I enjoy helping others as possible.
