What makes me a great caregiver is the opportunity to take care of some great people who need help and appreciate good help. I enjoy talking to people and listening to stories that so many elders have. I am very compassionate and do not frazzle easily. I have extensive experience with dementia patients. I recently became a certified Death Doula, specializing in personal care for dying patients. A personal achievement I am most proud of is raising my three children with my husband of 37 years. They (children) have grown to become great adults and that's all a parent can ask for.

Caregiving is what I live for and has been my job for as long as I can remember. I'm a great caregiver because I'm passionate and very vigilant when it's come to caring for the elderly. I pay close attention to details. What attracted me to being a caregiver was being able to care for my oldest daughter grandmother for over 5years now, she currently has paranoid schizophrenia. Achievements, don't really have any as of yet. My ultimate goal is to obtain my CNA.

Growing up, every great grandparent, and grandparent on both sides of my family, suffered from the Alzheimer's gene. I watched and assisted with their care and witnessed their deterioration my entire childhood and adult life. Naturally, I sought genetic testing and learned I am a carrier of the gene. I am pursuing a career in medicine with a double major in Biology (for Pre-Med) and Neurosciences (studying regressive neurological diseases and mental disorders). I am also a mom of 2. I enjoy providing companionship care and have extensive experience (both personal and professional) and knowledge of senior care and dementia/Alzheimer's. I provide the same care to families that I would give to my own. I'm a driven, passionate person who enjoys reading, outdoor activities of any kind, and am an avid believer that anything is possible if we set out to achieve it. I'm a very positive, upbeat, caring, compassionate person who became a caregiver in honor of my Grandmother. I enjoy the family's that I meet through my work and hearing about their lives. Once when I worked for an agency when I first started this line of work I was voted most requested caregiver 2 months in a row. I love what I do.

I was raised in a Christian home by my grandma, mom and dad. I attended a vocational tech school for High school where I studied nursing. I was a dental radiographer and expanded functions assistant for 18 years. I quit that to raise my sons during their teen years. I owned my own home day care business for 14 years. I went back to school and became a phlebotomist. After four years I was bored and went back to school to become a CNA. I have worked in hospitals and Hospice Houses. I have taken care of elderly in their homes because of cancer and/or hip replacements. I have worked in the ER on 12 hour shifts. I love taking care of people.

I have the desire to want to help. By showing both empathy and compassion , constantly showing the person that I am caring for know that i care about the person and want to do what I can to help them.
