Hello, I began my caregiving experience in 2009 working at Alternative Opportunities, Inc. located in Springfield, MO as an in-home caregiver for mentally and physically handicapped adults. This included meal prep, observational bathing, light housework, medication administration, and charting/ documentation. In 2010 I had the opportunity to provide hospice support for my great-grandmother in Ava, MO as she neared the end of her life. I primarily provided companionship and medication administration. In 2012 I provided support as an observational sitter when my grandmother entered an induced coma for aneurysm care in a Las Vegas, NV hospital. Throughout these experiences, I have learned how to provide care by being observant, respectful, diplomatic, confidential, and reliable. My personal motto is that all God's children deserve love and care.

I have always enjoyed helping others and it is definitely my passion. I got may CNA in 2002. I have worked nursing homes, the VA, in home health care, and now as a support worker for individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities. As my mother developed Dementia I helped her adjust. It took humility and humor and I think it made me into a person I respected. After she passed away I became a professional caregiver because I loved the special bond that grows between the client and the caregiver. I see it as an honor to make the transition less uncomfortable for someone adjusting to losing their independence. I am not perfect but I do attempt, to the best of my ability to do things exactly as my client would want them done. I want the client and their family to trust that they can rely on me to keep things on an even keel. The family is often very shaken up by the prospect of hiring a caregiver and the client finds it difficult to have someone in their home so I really try to fit into their life quietly and efficiently. I am educated, well-spoken and have a good sense of humor. I like to play cards and craft and take long drives and go shopping and I am a good cook. I am happily careful to keep kosher or vegan or diabetic or heart healthy dietary guidelines. I stick to the care plan and I organize one if there isn't one. What I don't know I research. I am resourceful and I communicate. I have very good references.

I have experience in multiple fields of practice in nursing patients of all age groups from baby to geriatric. My roles as nurse, ranged from burn care, orthopedics, recovery/post-op, - day surgery/pre-op. I am able to organize duties and responsibilities reasonably expected into the time frame given.
