I became a nurse aide because I always wanted to take care of the elderly. I love having conversations and being with them. I treat my patients as if they were my parents. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is being able to spend time with the patients and hearing their stories, which always puts a smile on both of our faces, for them to know that someone cares for them.

During my college career, I decided to become a Home Care worker because I knew that would be one way to reach out to the older adults in our communities. I realized how appreciated I was for my hard work and integrity, therefore I continued to be a caregiver. Since older adults have been around for many years, their wisdom is beyond impressive and I enjoy learning from them. As a home care worker I get the advantage to learn so much from older adults as I listen to their stories. I am deeply passionate about helping older adults and it is something I love to do. My passion prevails itself as I support and comfort my clients. For an example, what ever goals my clients wishes to achieve by the end of the day or week those goals will be met. These goals are of course related to activities of daily living skills, running errands, or engaging in the community, such as attending social day programs. I also encourage my clients to express their independence, thoughts, and feelings. I am someone any family member can rely on to take care of their parents, grandparents, aunts, or uncles.

I am a reliable and compassionate Board Certified Patient Advocate and caregiver with a 3-year nursing background and 7-years of caregiving experience. I pride myself on quickly learning new skills, adapting to any situation, and being very clean, neat, and organized as well as highly being on top of things. I have an extreme passion for genuinely taking care of people in need and a big heart for the elderly and cancer patients, with the experience of solely taking on the responsibility of caring for a family friend's mother, and my 25-year-old brother who both had aggressive cancer. In my free time, I enjoy reading books, researching anything that could be of great knowledge, spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and being creative.

This means that care plan is developed with the care receipients' priority in mind. I entered this field because of the need I realized when taking care of my senior relative who received a diffcult diagnosis. I am friendly, effecient, and enjoy a good conversation. Additionally, I make sure that they are both emotionally and physically comfortable at all times. And I am highly experienced in administering medication as well . Caring for my grandma inspired me to become a caregiver. I cared for her for years, and through that experience, I learned that I'm passionate about helping people and improving the daily lives of those in need of care. Supporting my grandma taught me skills like patience, compassion and problem-solving. I learned how to address issues quickly and effectively to ensure my grandma was healthy and safe. While the work was challenging, improving my grandma's quality of life made it worthwhile. I'd love to apply my skills to help make the same impact at your organization.
