I am very compassionate and empathetic. I have taken care of others for many years including family members suffering from dementia as well as other cognitive and physical disorders. I enjoy helping others obtain happiness and contentment while being able to live in a home setting. The best part of being a care giver is the personal reward. Hello, my name is Jocelyn and it is a pleasure to virtually meet you! I am a very energetic, kind, and knowledgeable caregiver. I got attracted to being a caregiver upon my Great Grandfather's mental decline. I saw he needed help and knew I wanted to help as many people as I could to ensure they had the best quality of life possible. The thing I enjoy most about being a caregiver is giving back to the community. I am proud to be the only person in my family to get a college degree and move out of the state of Wyoming!

Before going into food service I was CNA at mm Ewing continuing care center at FF Thompson Health Care. This career choice has many rewards and therefore I chose to further my education. I attended University of Phoenix and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare. My overall goal is to one day be my own boss and assist families with helping their loved ones at home. This is my passion my life's work.

I start nursing school in September and I am looking for side jobs to help me pay bills I have wanted to be a nurse for a very long time. Nursing is who I am and what I do.

I decided to become a caregiver because growing up my grandmother had early onset Alzheimer's, I watched how her caregivers supported her but our family as well. I started working at an assisted living facility during college and then transitioned into home care. I feel like often times when being a caregiver you are meeting someone at a challenging point in their life. It takes understanding, patience, kindness. I enjoy being part of a team that can make the transition of needing care not only easier on the families but as easy as possible for the person needing care.

I am very experienced and reliable working with the senior population. I am currently working for a Home Health in Ithaca part time and private home care. I worked private care for seniors, hourly and live-in, for 10 years. I have my PCA but prefer duties more companion care related I worked 8 years for a non for profit agency, working with independent adults with developmental disabilities and special needs. I am a certified Reflexologist having a private practice for 3 years and currently studying Reiki. I would be willing to share my work if there is any interest. One of my passions are learning and understanding how we heal our body naturally and sharing this information with others, helping them understand they have choices. It's an exciting transformation becoming an adult and I am looking for some steady hours to get my rent paid!
