I am very compassionate and empathetic. I have taken care of others for many years including family members suffering from dementia as well as other cognitive and physical disorders. I enjoy helping others obtain happiness and contentment while being able to live in a home setting. The best part of being a care giver is the personal reward. My proudest personal achievement is being a mom and nana.

Over the years I lost all four of my grandparents to cancer. I became a caregiver because I want to help people that are going through the same obstacles they once were. Helping people is my passion. The best feeling in the world is making a slight difference in one's life, making someone smile is everything. When I take care of my resident's and I recieve a smile it makes me feel like I've done a wonderful job. What attracted me to caregiving is going to the nursing home everyday and seeing my grandfathers nurses and aides come in, they always had a smile on their face and it gave him one too. The things they did for him were amazing and I wanted to do the same for someone else's grandparents.

I got attracted to being a caregiver upon my Great Grandfather's mental decline. I saw he needed help and knew I wanted to help as many people as I could to ensure they had the best quality of life possible. Before going into food service I was CNA at mm Ewing continuing care center at FF Thompson Health Care. This career choice has many rewards and therefore I chose to further my education. I attended University of Phoenix and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare. My overall goal is to one day be my own boss and assist families with helping their loved ones at home. I start nursing school in September and I am looking for side jobs to help me pay bills I have wanted to be a nurse for a very long time. Nursing is who I am and what I do.

I am very experienced and reliable working with the senior population. I am currently working for a Home Health in Ithaca part time and private home care. I worked private care for seniors, hourly and live-in, for 10 years. I have my PCA but prefer duties more companion care related I worked 8 years for a non for profit agency, working with independent adults with developmental disabilities and special needs. I am a certified Reflexologist having a private practice for 3 years and currently studying Reiki. I would be willing to share my work if there is any interest. One of my passions are learning and understanding how we heal our body naturally and sharing this information with others, helping them understand they have choices.
