My career was in business. I retired at a young age. I went into the health care industry from a suggestion of a relative who worked at a large local hospital. I worked there for 6 years and cared for hundreds of patients each having different illnesses. This background caused me to decide I would like to become an independent provider due to my experience. I particularly enjoy caring for elderly men with dementia. What I've found is their long term memories are interesting and have heard interesting stories especially from WWll veterans. I try to become "part of the family" with each patient. I try my best to help each patient maintain their dignity, be comforting, gain their confidence provide friendship and assure a safe environment. In all my past working experiences caregiving is my most satisfying.

I have been a caregiver over 20 years (long term, rehab, old timers unit patients, and etc). I care about the elderly and people that need help and cannot help themselves. Having parents that died in their 60's from cancer it was nice having the experience to be able to take care of them from their homes. Have done homecare over 5 years and really enjoyed working with the family's.

My experience varys from client to client. Most of my clients that I have worked with have some degree of Alzheimer's. I would say that I'm very experienced in that department. My availability as far as scheduling varys. I enjoy working more hours then fewer hours. I like to work over night care the most. I am willing to work any hours of any day or night to help with my clients needs. Also holidays are not a problem either. I have wonderful references and license for my nursing skills.
