I have always been the caregiver in my family from my grandmother who suffered a heart attack when I was 11 up to 2016 when my mother-in-law became ill with Parkinson's. It gives me a sense of fulfillment when I make my clients smile...whether it is from cooking their favorite meal or just listening to their life stories. Since I have trained in two different modern health facilities, I am very aware of what to watch for to prevent medical emergencies. My previous clients' families have nicknamed me "Angel" because I always want to make their stressed lives easier...and to create an environment where they can ENJOY being with their loved ones again. I am proud that I am very close to obtaining my CNA license (taking the Oklahoma State Exam in August), having taken 16+ senior homecare courses and training with the very best homecare agencies. I am looking forward to using my God-given talents to help seniors enjoy their lives to the fullest.

Hello! My name is Krystal! I am 27, I have two children! I have been a caregiver since childhood, it just came natural. My uncle was handicapped, and a slight medical miracle, his continuing life surprising us every day. I spent my childhood taking care of him with family. At age 6, my cousin was in a car accident and left a quadriplegic with a severe wound in his stomach that required a wound vac, a halo, and several tubes and IV's. Carefully, I always helped with almost all of his care needed. My mother managed the Alzheimer's unit in a nursing home, I spent almost every day there after school. My passion only grew. I started CNA classes in 2010 in high school, finished in 2012 and started work in my local nursing home soon after. I've continued to work my way up, and had dreams of being a pediatric surgeon, but my children and seeing them grow up was more important than my career. I need to be here for all of their small moments. I've been working from home lately, and while I feel my current job does have a purpose, I would love to be back out there, actually caring for my people face to face. I miss the interactions and connections I build with them and their families.

I have done both facilities and home health since or around 2008 . I really enjoy both. Im a very caring and helpful person. I like to make sure others are ok. Im a good listener and very considerate of other. Im a friendly calm, talkative, smiley face . I rarely meet any strangers and I treat everyone with the dignity and respect they deserve . The things I enjoy most about working with the elderly is being the one they can count on, the aide they love to see coming into work because they know im going to take good care of them during my shift . I enjoy making a difference in their day. Being able to help them do things they no longer are capable of doing themselves or cant do to the best of their own abilty anymore. I do it all. I cook, clean, run errands, dress, groom, shower, assist with toileting, laundry, comfort the best I can, med reminder ect.

After I was Honorably discharged from the Military, my best friend who was in the Marine Corps with me, was diagnosed with ALS. Spending time with his family and caretakers gave me a new found prospective on what I wanted to do as a career. Caring for 24 Individuals with various physical and mental health disabilities and being a role model, caregiver, big brother, and their Residential Director for 7 years.
