As a caregiver I am compassionate and caring. I decided to become a caregiver after helping care for my grandfather during his end of life. Through my 15+years of being a caregiver I understand what is means for the clients to have the care they deserve, while maintaining their dignity. I am a very patient, loving, dependable person. I am compassionate and understand another person's struggles. I am a mother of eight and have many years of experience with caring for others. As a young child I had a heart for babies and the elderly. At five years old I was so proud to walk my 80 year old grandfather around our neighborhood. Some people are takers and some are givers. I've always been a giver. If I see someone in need, I just naturally jump in with help. Helping others gives me a sense of peace. We all know life can be hard, so I like to make it easier for others any time I'm able to . We all have different qualities, and I believe caregiving is a gift. I'm so thankful for the opportunity of caring for my mother after she was diagnosed with lung cancer. I moved into her home, with my then 3 month old baby, to make sure my mom felt loved and cared for. I felt it was my way of honoring my mother and showing respect for all the years she cared for her children. Most people do not get to experience being with a parent when their life is over and I will always consider it an honor.

My job included hands on care,training staff , facilitating support groups for family and friends of people with dementia. I also did public speaking to groups about dementia. Hello! I am a 22 almost 23 year old single mom. I have a lot of experience starting as a candy striper at 15, being a dietary aid while getting my stna, working in a nursing home, doing home health, and also working in waver homes. My experience ranges from just companionship to full on assistance. I have experience with colostomy bags, hoyer lifts, catheter bags, different forms of dementia. I also have experience cooking and preparing meals for regular diets, mechanical softs, purees, and thickeners.
