Growing up as a kid I saw a lot of death and sickness in my family. My grandmother took care of everyone in the family. So seeing her be strong and holding the family together during tough times made me compassionate on helping others. What I love most about being a caregiver is putting a smile on my patients face that lets me know my job is well done. I have 18 years of experience in health care.

I am all around people person who genuinely takes pride in helping those around me. When caregiving I feel rewarded at the end of the work day. Taking care of my grandmother after her stroke helped me find my interest in caregiving. Caregiving is something that came very naturally and I truly believe it's my gift.

I became a caregiver because I have a willingness to help and care for others. The opportunity was offered to me when I was very young caring for a family friend and ever since I have enjoyed the work and the sense of purpose it gives me. Ive been a caregiver on and off since I was 17 years old and I love doing it im also really good at it. Im comfortable in alot of diffrent situations im also a great cook :)

My first job as a caregiver was way back in 1985, my senior year of high school. I worked in a nursing home and fell in love with caring for those in their golden year. They have so much to teach us. I went on to get my Masters in Social Work and was a hospice social worker for 15 years. I took every opportunity to provide direct care- there's just nothing like it. :) I opened a hospice house where I recruited, trained and mentored CNA's. I had the best of both worlds because I was a certified medication technician and was able to enjoy a lot of 1:1 time with our residents. After several years, I became a director of hospice and have been in management for the past 7 years. Honestly, I'm tired of quotas, the pressure to meet benchmarks, etc and want to return to simpler times when I was able to love on someone, pampering them and doing my best to ensure they are as comfortable and stress-free as possible. I'm excited to get back to my roots and hope you'll give me the chance to prove how much I adore older adults and love to spoil them.

I am a 23 year old female. I was born and raised in Lancaster, South Carolina. I spent a few years taking care of my grandfather while he battled with ALS. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2019. After losing my grandfather, I came to realize that helping the elderly was something that I felt like I was meant to do. To me, caregiving is an extremely rewarding job. Senior citizens have given so much to this world.
