Hi. Just a bit about me you may like to know. I believe that to be a good caregiver one should always be kind and respectful of client and family. I would treat your loved one as if they were my own parent or grandparent or child. I've always had a heart for the elderly, I love listening to their life story. I've been a caregiver for about 10 years and have clients of very different personalities and life experiences. I also enjoy cooking for and learning the way and meals people love to eat. I also very much enjoy providing personal grooming for my clients as I have been a stylist for the last 20 years. [?]

Have always had a respect and admiration for our elderly. Helping, seeing them smile and laugh makes me smile. I have spent 20 years in the health field arena. Seventeen of those in clinical research as a coordinator. For 12 years I have worked part time as a caregiver, evenings and weekends , providing companionship, an awareness of medical needs, spiritual inspiration, planned activities and hospice care. I have certificates and training in CPR, Alzheimer's, Professional Caregiver Education, Advanced CareGiver Training, medical terminology and phlebotomy.

What makes me a great caregiver is that, I'm loving, compassionate, and very caring. What made me become a caregiver is my great grandmother that I was caring for had Dementia. And I have been a caregiver/Cna since 2005. What attracted me to being a caregiver is that I truly love to help people especially the people who can longer do for themselves or who just need companionship. What I love most about being a caregiver is just being able to help someone and make their life a little bit easier and bring them comfort. My personal achievement that I'm most proud of is being able to advancing in the medical field. I went from a caregiver, Cna, phlebotomist , to a future medical assistant. I have also been a Cna for the past 15-16 yrs working in long term care facilities.

I have worked off and on since 1985 caring for the elderly. I am available weekly Monday through Thursday for a 10/12 hour shift each day, either days or nights. I am available also for working a 7 day shift opposite another who works the other 7 days. It Is much easier having 2 caregivers and makes the Senior's life easier. We get to know their likes and dislikes, the routine stays the same and the family is more comfortable knowing the care givers. I cared for both of my parents and find Care Giving for the Elderly to be very rewarding by giving then the chance to remain at home in comfortable surroundings. I have 10 years with Dementia/Alzheimer's Care, 20+years with Diabetic Care. I love to cook and light housekeeping is no problem. I drive to appointments, shopping and just a drive itself. I'm very experienced with shopping for the Senior and always try to follow their likes. I have my CPR(Adult/Child/Infant/Choking) AED/First-Aid/Bloodborne Pathogens Certificate.
