I took care of my sick mother until she passed away. Later, a friend introduced me to the field of caregiving. Though I had formerly been a school teacher, caregiving fit like a glove. A client once asked me why I chose this profession, and I told her that I wanted to make a difference in people's lives. I offer personal care, housekeeping services, and companionship. When my client was dying, I held her hand the entire time, not knowing that the daughter had entered the room and observed my action. After her death I received a note from the daughter describing how she had been touched by my action. As a former teacher, I am punctual, compassionate, empathetic, and sentimental; I laugh and cry with my clients. My current job involves caring for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes. I have recently been providing a client with personal hygiene in the morning through CareLinx.

I received my BA from Virginia Commonwealth University and I am currently working on my masters at Mary Baldwin University. I work a full-time at home job and am looking to pick up a few hours working as a CNA. I enjoy working as a CNA because I love getting to know people and their stories, assisting those who may have no one else to depend on, and providing genuine support. I enjoy helping others, and one of the things I like is to get engage the client and family in their care. I love cooking and reading, I love to engage into a routine that makes my client confident on his/her care. However, at times some people likes to pick what ever they like to do daily, still, there is no problem with that! I am a happy person, I enjoy making my client smile and keep with good spirit. I enjoy the outdoors and keeping my client active. I have worked for hospice as well, and I do not have a problem seating with someone and just listen, or also just keep silent while things do not go the way they expected. I have a great training with Alzheimer's disease and dementia; and here, I really enjoy the elderly! I received my CNA/HHA certification in 1997. I moved from California to Virginia and have not attended school here. I do have a valid with very good clean driving record DL and a CPR training if need it and I am well trained when doing safe transfers. I am working in a hospital .8 was hired to be clear; but I want to work more. Or find a client that will offer stability in hours offered; I have worked many wonderful years for home health & private settings
