I sat with my Grandmother and helped take care of her before she passed and after she did, I felt that I needed to continue to carry on this assistance! The need to be needed is what encourages me and makes me want to do these types of jobs! So now i mainly clean homes, run errands, assist with personal care if needed and any thing else that the client may need to be done! I prefer day shift hours between 8am and 3pm!I feel my biggest accomplishment is to be able to continue to work with other elderly families that are having the same needs as my Grandmother did and I try my best to help in anyways possible! I started caregiving soon after my grandmother had gotten sick and I've never thought of doing anything else in the world but help the people who needs a little extra care. What I enjoy most about what I do would be learning new clients and adapting to them and their needs. My husband and I have been married 40 years and I sincerely believe our sense of humor is what made us the happy couple we are today. My mother was in a nursing home with Parkinson's because she refused to live with any of her daughters. I spent evenings and weekends visiting her when I wasn't out of town. Decorated her room for each holiday and would take her outside for a basket lunch. Once she passed I adopted a little senior lady who had no family. Her Christmas was much merrier cause someone took the time to shower her with gifts and conversation. I have always had a desire to work with seniors and somehow make their life a little brighter. Since I am a senior myself I feel like I understand what is needed and would love to be given the chance to show you.
