Greetings! I'm Sheila, I've been in the healthcare field going on 9yrs now. I've had many experiences from a home health to hospitals, to assisted living, long-term care, physical therapy and etc. I gain my passion of becoming a CNA through the love that I have to care for others. It's my drive and dedication that keeps me lifted daily. Never in a million years did I think my role of being a CNA would take place once upon a time in my life with my own family member. A year ago my sister was in a tragic accident which left her paralyzed and in the care of both me and my mom. Although I already had passion and love for what I do, that gave me even more strength and courage being as good as I was. August of 2022, she gained her wings and it's a moment I'll never forget. It gives me the mindset to strive and continue pushing myself daily for better. I want to make a difference someday inside the healthcare field and my goal is to do just that. I'm currently a online graduate student pursuing my Masters in Healthcare Management. Upon graduation I will continue my career as a CNA as well as gain a higher position inside the healthcare field. Being in this position, you understand what it feels like, what it takes and how strong you truly have to be caring for others and that is something I truly don't ever see myself pulling away from. The reason I became a caregiver is that I believe in that one on one care, because they don't get that in a facility. When I have done something for my client that makes them happy, then I am happy.
