I Have experience. bathing, feeding changing dressing Physical therapy, I have not had a challenge that I wasn't able to complete. I love when I complete a task and the patient is happy. I became a caregiver in August 2009 for my father, Brian. After a series of tests my father was diagnosed with early - stage of cancer. I have always taken care of my father because my mother was never around to provide support to the family. His condition is still in the early stages, but I am worried about the future. This situation brought my father and I closer. His condition has made me realize that this is career move that I wanted to peruse. I am not a caregiver by career but by choice. I am a caregiver that truly cares about helping others and want to make a difference in the lives of seniors and their families. I am caring, punctual, respectful, outgoing, honest, patient, professional and organized.

I become a caregiver taking care of my father his last 3 years, to know better about his illness I read books, interview friends who work on that field ( dementia), after my fathers passed , I descide to learn more about mental illness. And find a job as a profesional caregiver. Took courses and read books about Dementia and Alzheimer's illness. Then I knew that we need to be prepared and accept changes in life. I learned that elderly needs more patience, compassion and respect . Is not easy for family members like I did experience to accept or understand this changes. I fell in love taking care of elder people. And everyday I want to be better in that field and give the best of me with love and compassion.

My experience has taught me patience and compassion for individuals afflicted with mental and physical disabilities requiring assistance with daily activities. I am able to handle patients who are ambivalent about their need for outside help and understand the psychological stress individuals face when having to give up their independence and need to rely on others. It is especially rewarding knowing my work is making a difference in people's lives.

I am 55 years old no kids at home have 2 dogs in love working with elderly people companionship is a plus and just making them laugh and be happy about themselves and make them feel comfortable in there home

Hello, Although I have a degree/career in the operating room assisting surgeons with surgeries..........I have found my passion in making a tremendous difference in the quality & care of one's life by caregiving and nursing career. My grandparents played a tremendous role in my life (whom I also cared for at the end of their long lives) and I have always been very comfortable & fond of elderly, and geriatric people. I have found it to be an absolute joyful and rewarding experience to be a caregiver & nurse. We are called to take good care of the Widowed & Orphaned. My passion and love for them are evident. I am healthy, strong, vaccinated, devoted, honest, compassionate, dependable, caring, and extremely patient. Very detail oriented and trustworthy. I enjoy caring for someone as well as doing activities together. I enjoy connecting and listening to amazing stories of loved ones and past history. It is very important for me to stay engaged with the individual and showing them that they matter. It is very crucial to care for someone by treating them with the utmost dignity and respect. if possible, it is important to keep the person socially connected and take out in the community.
