I have always been someone who had a heart for others. As a young man that resignated through acts of service, helping others in my neighborhood, through my church, and random people I met along the way. God instilled a gift of caring for my fellow man and he has always placed my in roles where I can use this gift. It wasn't until I was in my 20s where I realized this gift would be well received in the world of medicine and later nursing. I originally thought a career in EMS was where I belonged but it limited my upward mobility and after going through an EMT Basic class I soon realized their were other options available to me. I moved into the hospital environment through a cardiac telemetry position and began learning about inpatient medicine and the many roles nurses play. During my time there I went through a CNA 1 & 2 class and began to realize that nursing was where I would fit in the world of medicine. However, It was my grandmother who cemented the notion in my mind that I would make an amazing nurse. During her last days I was able to spend some time with her; making her conferrable, meeting her needs, caring for her became second nature and I realized in those last moments with her that nursing was where I belong. As you can see I have come full circle in way; starting with the idea that EMS is where I want to be and ending up with a passion for nursing but at an EMS pace in the Emergency Room. I feel at home when I'm working with patients, I look foreword to every shift, and the challenges it provides; because in these challenges I reaffirm my calling to the nursing profession.

I have been working for Partners In Care in Grass Valley, working both in home health and at the assisted living facility Eskaton since the beginning of this year. I have worked as a babysitter and nanny, caring for children for several years. I am currently in my final year of a Physical Therapist Assistant program and will be beginning my internships this month. I have the skills necessary to transfer, ambulate with, and bathe seniors in a safe manner. I am very compassionate and wiling to do the extra work to assure safety and to provide a comfortable and positive environment for those I am working with. I am CPR certified. I used to have my Wilderness EMT certification and was a ski patroller. I feel that I can handle emergency situations well. I am passionate about doing the best I can to make the lives of those around me a little bit better. I became a caregiver because I truly enjoy working closely with the elderly and those who are unable to care for themselves. I enjoy being able to assist in making the lives of the elderly a much happier enjoyable time. I love being able to spend time and put smiles on their faces at the end of my day with them. I have been recognized through my last employer for my outstanding job in providing care and making myself available when necessary. A little something about me, I am 38 years old I have a 13year old daughter. I am an extremely dedicated individual who is always on time and will never not follow through when I've made a commitment to doing something. A very sincere individual who really enjoys helping others.I currently have my HHA license.

I'm a competent and compassionate healthcare professional with the ability to thrive in a diversity of practices. I'm seeking an opportunity to employ comprehensive patient care. I've worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for seven years, in both hospital and home health settings.

All my life I have always loved making a difference in the lives of others. Being able to care for people gives me sense of purpose. I have been helping to care for my grandfather my entire life. I love to provide companionship, easy access to appointments, meal preparation, and other tools to make the person I am caring for more comfortable. I have a vehicle with up to date insurance, and a valid drivers license, so getting to and from wherever I need to be, is no issue. I understand that being a care giver means you need to be very alert of the one you are caring for's emotions. Allowing somebody into your life to care for you is a very stressful process, and I will do everything to make sure your loved one is happy, worry free, and taken care of!

As a retired person, I would like to become a caregiver as I know I would enjoy this type of work. I enjoy senior citizens and I enjoy their stories and what they have to say about the world today. I have cared for three elderly female until their demise and feel that I provided them all some pleasure and enjoyment in their last years.
