I became a caregiver in 1989 when i became a CNA and once my mother became ill in that same year. She had a stroke and could no longer do for herself. There were times when I had to give her an enema along with personal hygiene care. Prepared meals, cleaned home, took my mom shopping, out to eat occasionally.
