Hello! My name is Desiree and I have been caregiving professionally since 2008 beginning with my cousin with developmental disabilities. My first job after high school was housekeeping in nursing home and hospital and I always found myself trying to interact with the clients, whether it just be conversations or pushing them back to their rooms after meals. I have mostly worked in CILA homes taking care of the developmentally disabled and I absolutely enjoyed every moment and every prrsonality I ever met! Never a full moment, I began as a DSP and was a house manager for the same company. I have also worked some side jobs taking care of the elderly, a couple until they passed, and another until she just didn't need the extra help Amy more. I have wanted be a caregiver for as long as I can remember, I had a grandpa that had lost both legs, one due to a stroke and the other because of Gangrene. My grandmother need a lot of help with him from changing diapers to helping with feeding once he got a feeding tube, and I was always their! I don't feel like myself unless I'm helping someone else live their best life!

I'm a good listener, a hard worker, I'm a deep cleaner and you can depend on me! I love being a care giver because I get along better with my elders and they are all usually very kind and sweet. One achievement that I am proud of is that I've worked at doing care giving ever since the late nineties. I've been a caregiver since I was 19 and now I'm 44. I am specialize in All Heimers dementia Parkinson's I also deal with paraplegic patients adults I have also taken care of non-adults. My mom was ill for 12 months and I stayed with her every day in the hospital transferring from hospital to hospital and I wanted to do better for our elderly people because I seen the way they treated her and I didn't want someone else's mother or grandmother treated the same way. Giving our patients the companionship and not making them feel lonely. I am proud that I got my GED and it took me a long time but I went back to college and did a year of college to which I'm gonna go back and finish up my masters in cardiac echo grams.

I love working with the elderly I've been doing it for about 3 years I love making sure I take care of everybody's needs and they are happy and pleased when I'm done taking care of them !

I have 8 years of Geriatric Care in Nursing homes, Assisted living facilities and in home care. I enjoy helping others and will continue my education to become a nurse practitioner and be able to provide health care to various ages of life through my career.
