I have been in healthcare for 11 years. I love helping people and I enjoy caring for people. I love everything about being a caregiver. I love the residents/clients. Their personalities, their conversations, and you can actually learn a lot just from helping others. I'm proud I took the next step and completed my CNA classes. I. I am passionate and patient I therefore know that people who need care often take longer to complete simple tasks. They may ask the same questions over and over. As a good caregiver , I need patience to deal with anything from a loved one's memory lapses to angry outbursts. I usually practice staying calm and avoiding frustration. Empathy and understanding are absolutely necessary. Even when caring for an abusive person, I aways try to remain empathetic and understanding. Finding something to laugh about can make a tough situation bearable. My sense of humor keeps me emotionally strong and is a great stress buster. I know the importance of respecting their loved one's current abilities. Rather than focusing on what their loved one can no longer do, i try to be in the moment with them -- looking at photos, listening to music, cooking a favorite meal, remembering that they weren't always sick. Therefore that makes me the best and suitable candidate who looks forward to taking care of your loved ones.
