Hello! My name is Kayla I am 20years old and currently taking classes at Pittsburg State University. I have been a CNA since 2016, working in three different facilities. I am skilled in caring for those with memory care needs, and those with behaviors. My favorite part about providing care is seeing the difference I make in the live of those involved. Upon the completion of my bachelors I will be attending medical school where I plan to specialize in Pediatrics. The greatest achievement I have made thus far is spending my summers off traveling to foreign countries and assisting in the care and development of hospitals.

Hello My experience comes from my family. When Grandpa was still with us he had many medical difficulties. While my grandma can handle what life throws at her I was one of the few there at moment to assist. From doctors appointments to in home.Grandpa was on kidney dialysis which requires a machine to be used at home.In a since I was a nurse.giving meds and hooking to machine.anything and anytime for them.havent had professional paid experience. Not only do I assist with people but animals as well.To help another is a silent award that can bring a smile to not only yourself but the client as well.knowing that they just might feel better from getting care or someone just being there is payment in itself. My other grandma dealt with depression and Parkinson's.watching that disease take over and make her suffer taught me to enjoy and appreciate family and the finer things we are blessed with.

I became a caregiver after suffering with some issues of my own as an adolescent. Once graduating from high school and needing to think about careers that mattered I went right into nursing. It started with home health and has ventured into working in hospital settings and nursing homes as well. What I like about being a caregiver is the fact that you know you are taking care of needs as they arise. You leave your client/patient with a feeling of self worth. Nothing is more rewarding than that! As a caregiver you can watch a client go from feeling down and blue and not healing well to smiling and taking life head on with the right support and beating many odds laid out for them. My most personal achievement would have to be while working in a hospital setting, was caring for a sick infant. She cried so much and her parents were distraught. I came into the room and asked if I could help. They gladly said yes. I worked with this child for quite some time and with patience and perseverance I was able to help her calm down, eat, bathe, and assist in getting her meds down. When the parents came back she was napping. They said they had been at the facility for many days and things were only getting worse. Both parties needed sleep in order to let healing begin. Knowing I was there willing to listen and able to work was a great feat. Your there for your patients and that is how it is supposed to be. As far as myself, I'm caring, compassionate, devoted to what I do.
