Hi, I'm Kayla! I was born and raised in Nebraska, meaning I'm very nurturing! Nothing makes me happier than pasting a smile on someone's beautiful face. And I have the tendency to do that a lot! Although I have never completely taken care of anyone in the elder community, I have taken complete care of several families children. From age 12 and up, I did a lot of evening/weekend babysitting for relatives and other families around the community. I was a pretty popular babysitter! (I have lots of references!) Also, I helped my mom with her in home daycare, while I was in high school. Right out of high school (summer 2017) I moved to Dumfries, Virginia to be a live in nanny. A job I had always dreamed of having! What an amazing experience that was. I miss it every day! I worked at a nursing home for a while, as an activities assistant. This was literally the best job ever. I got to do crafts, exercises, music, games, trivia, and my favorite, reminiscing, with the residents. Also, I had special memory care activities to do with those who needed it. After working there, I realized this is where I belong. The connection I have with people, the way I listen and pay attention clearly makes a difference in their lives. Like I said before, nothing makes me happier than being responsible for the smile on ones face! I fully believe God put me here on Earth to take care of people who need me. I believe I will make an excellent caregiver because of my compassion, experience, and willingness to learn new things and face new challenges. (Open to any questions!)
