Ive worked in restaurants, warehouses as a receptionist, dog sitter, sign holding to pharmacist technician. I've also had the experience in working with the elderly as a personal care aid in which I'm certified in. I fully believe we all have a calling in life. This happens to be mine. I've been a certified nurses aide since I was 18 years old. I've worked with all facets in which the job could entail. Private and in house facilities. Dementia/Alzheimer's - the blanket of it and it's branches, quad and paraplegic inflicted folks. Colostomy care as well as wound care. The list goes on. However, whatever the aliment, or the the age, we are all people, with feelings and tempers and day to day challenges. Sitting down with someone, hearing stories about their loves and accomplishments, simply giving them time and attention is what I see is most important. The smiles, hugs and love make my job worth it each and every day. I would be happy to sit down and meet you, your family and loved one and see if I am the right fit to help them carry on, when sometimes life seems like it's taking simple tasks away from them and comfort and ease them into a new chapter. I have been a caregiver for a few years now. In those few years, i have learned valuable lessons that will stay with me forever. Lessons taught by other staff or a patient. They can't teach you everything in a classroom, you have to learn somethings hands on, and those are the lessons I will never forget. Being a caregiver has taught me how to put others needs before my own, it has taught me gratitude and selflessness. Being a caregiver isn't about just doing your job, it's about compassion. I treat all of my clients as if they are family, because in reality they will become a second family.

I am a great caregiver because I take my time with people and I care about the person I am caring for. Watching CNA's care for my grandpa when he was in the hospital is what me into caregiving. Because seeing someone care for my grandpa and help him with the things he needed gave me and my family a lot of relief knowing that when we left to go home he was taken care of and we didn't have to be there 24 hours. It made me want to be able to do that for other people and their families, give them relief and comfort knowing their loved one is being taken care of even if they're not there. I love being a caregiver because I love to help people and it makes me feel good to help people with whatever they need without making them feel like a burden or like they are less of a person because they need a little help.

Since I was a very young girl I have always known that I would be a caregiver. I watched my grandmother take care of the elderly at the Senior Citizens Center in Harlem,NY and I helped her which gave me satisfaction. The fact that I'm able to assist and provide a needed service to those in need is very rewarding. I'm most proud of my daughter who is now attending college for her RN. I am dependable, resourceful and am a good listener.

I became a caregiver because I love people and I feel people should have the best quality of life in there time of need. I love to help people learn new ways of taking care of themselves so they can have the best quality of life during there illness. I love the smiles I get when I arrive to start my job , I teach and clients teach me its a fabulous feeling. I made one fabulous achievement about a year ago and I will never forget it. I started to take care of a client when the client had one amputation , it was sad but we continued to do lots of stuff I had to give encouragement everyday , Then one day the client had to have the other leg removed. At this time the client was so depressed everyday was a struggle but I told the client we can still do what we did before its just going to take a little longer the clients response was," I want to go to Kohl's shopping". I said okay we can do that let me plan it out. Guess what the client went shopping at Kohl's and went to lunch, Where there is a will there is a way. I will never forget that one month later the client passed a way but the client got the shopping trip that was thought to never happen. People told me that I would not be able to do this with this client when I did they said I was one of a kind. I said no I am not I accomplished another good deed for a wonderful person. I have worked as a nursing assistant for 15 years. I have worked for nursing homes , Hospice , and acute care for Margaretville Hospital. I am CPR cert

Hi iam Consuela I'm a PCA with my certification, Iam 40 years old I have 20 years exsprience in health care. Iam CPR certified. I have worked for wilcare when I first became a PCA, from there I worked for Sullivan county long term then went in to new hope commnity where I became a direct support professional working with individuals with intellectual disabilities of all phases my exsprience as they all are related in some way were to perform activities of daily living administird medication to 12 individuals, along with that prepared or prepped meals accordingly to the meal plan bathed, dressed and leisure accompanied to dr apts. Iam very reliable and have great references from past employments

I'm a single parent with two children that are on the Spectrum. Being a caregiver is the most self-rewarding goal in my life. And my whole life I always gravitated towards people in need with assistance. I am out going in nature and love camping.

I like the field, I am always willing to meet new people. I don't like to know people are in a tuff spot when they need help, enjoy reaching out to help with basic needs. I do cleaning, shopping,bathing, cooking, I have been in classes for can, home care, this is something I enjoy doing.
