I am a great caregiver because am highly dependable, am compassionate, patient, a good listener and highly skilled to taking care of older people and children. I took care of my grandmother in Africa Uganda who had diabetes, it was fulling to make a person comfortable in their pain, that made me want to take my career to the next level when i came to USA... What i enjoy most about caregiving is making the elderly comfortable and enabling them live normal lives regardless. My personal achievement is becoming a CNA recently! I like helping others, and I have a great compassion to care for the elderly. I love what I do and it shows in the quality of care I provide. I was 17 years old when I help took care of my aunt who was very ill and when she passed away I knew then I want to take care of others. What I love most of all is helping them to complete their day with what task they have, and making sure they are comfortable and secured. I had a client that had hip surgery and needed physical therapy and I helped them by encouraging and motivating them to keep trying when they may have wanted to give up. The person was able to get back to their normal self after much consistency and determination. That's what made me proud because we did it together.

I take time to truly listen to clients and understand their needs. My background in healthcare has given me the skills to handle a variety of situations calmly and professionally. 2. What attracted you to being a caregiver? I was inspired by the care my grandmother received during her illness. Seeing the difference compassionate caregivers made in her life sparked a passion in me to provide the same comfort, dignity, and support to others. 3. What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver? I enjoy building personal connections with clients and knowing I'm making a real difference in their quality of life. Every smile, "thank you," and shared moment reminds me why this work is so meaningful. 4. What is a personal achievement you are proud of? I'm proud of starting my own licensed homecare agency from the ground up, even during the uncertainty of the pandemic. It took courage, determination, and hard work, but it allows me to impact lives in a meaningful way every day.

I became a care giver because I love working with people especially the elderly. I love taking care of the elderly and I love the companionship. They have so many stories to tell and they still have so much to offer. They have sent their lives taking care of people and it's time for someone to care for them. My greatest personal achievement is obtaining my CNA license. It is the first thing I have started and finished since high school. Also, being a mother is another thing that is important to me. I am a mother of 2 lovely children I am 31 years old. I work at the Abbeville Nursing Home.
