I was born to a very large family,15 children to be exact,we were taught to care for one another,and when I was 13 years old,my grandmother came to live with us, because she could no longer safely care for herself and her home,,my mother,my sister and myself,done all the things you would do for an infant and cared for her until her death,I believe in doing so,I learned compassion and the skill of helping people, when the time or circumstance,comes that a person can no longer do life on there own,and I just love people,I wish more people had the heart to serve others.

Hello, I have been working in the healthcare field for 23 years. Am a passionate caring nurse who treats my patients as I want to be treated.

I am a great caregiver because I first learned how to be one by helping my parents and my brother. They had certain disabilities, both physical and mental/psychological, that touched my heart and helped me realize the importance of quality of life to everyone, not just to those who are healthy. Then, I achieved 89 credits towards my BSN (bachelors degree in nursing) and graduated with honors in Surgical Technolgy from Tennessee Technology Center, First Aid at MTSU, and am a licensed CNA and am CPR/BLS certified, and have a Leadership Award from St. Thomas Hospital. I currently work at a hospital as a CNA/PCA and am looking to work part-time to possibly full-time for someone who has the need for home health and/or caregiver needs. I have excellent references and take my work seriously!

My mother raised three children alone,pretty much.I was the oldest and cared for my two brothers,chores etc. while my mother worked.My youngest brother was born with bone dease in legs,hips,he had to have several hip replacements etc. I took care of him and a couple more family members as time went by.I just honestly think that a caregiver is who I am.I first started in 1989 in a Nursing Home worked there couple year's.Then I worked at the hospital and I have now done 6 years of private duty,homehealth .I have always been some what parcel to Elderly.

In my past I have had many jobs in the industrial field and realized that through performing routine tasks there is a larger scale product involved. Each task must be done with quality in order to serve the company as a whole. All of the parts come together in order to make a whole. I see this when I serve a patient as well. Even though I may just be a tech, I realize that my job is just as important as everyone on the nursing team. If I don’t perform efficiently or diligently it effects not only my patients, but the team as a whole suffers. During my CNA classes I learned that providing quality care was a vital part of improving and maintaining optimal health. I have had some private care jobs where I worked as a unlicensed tech and during my time doing this I realized the joy I can bring to others as well as the joy it gives me to serve those whom have provided a path for me to embrace my goals.

I love making a difference and caring for people .I have always had a caregiver heart as a young girl To me a caregiver should be a calling and not for a check.

I have a very happy outgoing positive personality. I can lift someone's spirits in a very loving way. I have true compassion and fall in love with someone I care for. The thing that attracted me to caregiving was when I had to help my mother care for my great uncle who had Parkinson's disease. I seen how much someone needs someone at that time of their life. The thing I enjoy most about caregiving is the love I get to give someone during their difficult time and how much I can try to make it better for them. A personal achievement I'm very proud of is how strong, independent, and loving I am.
