In 2013 I went to cosmetology school even though I love doing hair, once I received my cosmetology licenses I realized my biggest passion was still in nursing. I've worked in nursing facilities and home health. I'm always asked why I love being a nurse well that's easy to answer, when I get too work and the residence/client sees me the smile on their face and the excitement in their voice when they say my name is the most heartwarming feeling, they would say I always have the biggest smile on my face no matter what kind of day I'm having. I've worked with dementia and Alzheimer patients. I have no allergies will work with smokes/nonsmokers, cats, dogs ect. As a young child one of my favorite things was to hang out with my grandparents/great grandparents and hear all their many stories. From their child hood and all in between. I also loved helping them in various things. From landscaping with my grandfather to cooking and sewing with my grandmother. I became a caregiver because being in the company of my elders is what brought me the greatest joy. I love the smiles on their faces. My best achievement is being missed when I'm off. I was working an Alzheimer's unit for about 8 months, i took a three day weekend and a very confused man came to me and said[where have you been on vacation]

I am a 49 year old nana to 10 beautiful grandbabies. I have worked in nursing homes, and altimzers units, to lock down units. I like to read, watch movies and sing. I also have an associates degree i. Business management. I have had a cna and a medical assisgance license for over 22 years but i let it laps. I have tried other jobs from financing to repossession. Yes it may pay well but it doesnt make my heart feel the way it does when im an helling people. One thing i am most proud of is ive managed to raise 3 beautiful sons and i have had 13 foster kids. You have to patience, understanding and both sympathy and empathy to do this job. You have to care and want to help people. In the end I love the way being a crar giver feels. I love helping families take care of their loved ones so they can keep them at their home.
