I have been doing this kind of job for over 8 years I love taking care of people and talk with them and also I get attached with my clients I make them laugh and I want them to feel comfortable . And what I enjoyed about a caregiver it feels like I'm carrying like there my own grandparents .

Some traits that will help be a caregiver is I can sympathize with families I'm working with. I understand that moods change, attitudes change, mobility changes and memories change. Another trait is understanding and help how the patient wants and needs to be helped. What attracts me to being a caregiver is that my mother has a caregiver that comes into our home and I can't think her enough for being patient with my mom and understanding my mom and making her happy when she comes in because my mothers caregiver is neutral so my mom will open up to her and my mom will tell her things that she won't tell us that the caregiver feels that she needs to tell me and I just wish that my mom would be more comfortable telling me things, but I'm glad that the caregiver is there for her. And I'd like to be that special someone for someone else.. I think the one thing that I would enjoy most about being a caregiver is listening to the stories the families telling me what makes them happy, and what I can do to make them happy. I started my career as a caregiver because of my grandpa. He had lung cancer but he didn't want to go to a nursing home. I asked him why and he told me that they really don't care for their patients. So I wanted to be someone that patients could count on to be there for them. While I was at the nursing home I enjoyed being there only because of the patients.
