I am a licensed CNA with over 15 year's experience as both an hourly and an in-home 24 hour caregiver. I have many year's experience in other related healthcare fields as well and am also a Licensed Veterinary Technician. I have Nurse Delegation certification, BLS/HCP CPR and First Aid cards, as well as Mental Health certification. The last 2 1/2 years I've worked with predominantly one client providing care for all the activities of daily living (including transportation) and companionship as well as acting as a healthcare advocate. I've also spent 4 years with an Alzheimer's client providing in home care including physical therapy assistance and hospice. I have provided care for clients with multiple health concerns including hypertension, stenosis, heart disease, depression, paralysis, digestive disorders, and cancer. I also worked during my training in a nursing home. As a side note, I have learned tremendously for 5 years the many aspects of case management acting as a POA and Healthcare Representative/Advocate/Case Manager for a family member and other clients so am able to provide those kind of services as well if needed. I previously worked as a Veterinary Technician for 16 years and in a prior position provided at home medical care for my client's pet as well. I can also provide Clerical Support as in prior positions I reviewed/maintained medical and other records, facility admission/release forms and contracts, mental health assessments, legal documents, and auto and homeowner's insurance policies. I began working in a nursing home while in high school. I enjoyed taking the time to care for my clients in the home on a daily basis. For 40 intermittent years I have care for many different types of people who needed assistance and help with their daily lives. I very much enjoy caring for alzheimers patients and also dementia. I've worked with Parkinson's disease clients, multiple sclerosis, The sheer fact of making their responsibilities easier satisfies me.

I having been a police for over 25 years, my career changed suddenly in 2018 after I lost my sister to cancer. I was away when she passed on and when I came back I was told that my sister's health detorriated so much and she had no caregiver to assist her even to get to hospital at times perhaps she would have atleast lived longer if there was someone to assist her. I was disappointed to know this and from that day on I decided to go out and care for those who need help so here I am and I always want to give the best I can.

I am very compassionate about this kind of work. I have 2 1/2 years of experience with working in a nursing home, assisted living home, and as a home care provider. My mother has been a caregiver for 20 years and so I guess it's in our genes to want to help people! I have a huge heart and I care about helping folks who need a little extra help or even just companionship. I enjoy building relationships with each of my clients. I think the most important part of this job is to listen and to be their support system and provide the best companionship as possible. I am proud that I have decided to choose caregiving as my career path because it's natural for me to want to care for folks. An achievement that I have done is I care for family who always requested me to come work for them because I am a quick learner and go the extra mile!

I am kind and extremely giving. I take care of everyone as if they were my own parents. I have taken care of my own quadriplegic son at home doing things I never thought I would be doing, but out of love I learned everything to take the best care of him that I could. I started caregiving after my son was shot because who could take better care of him than me. I decided to become an C.N.A, and took extra classes so that I could be prepared for anything, and enable him to be independent, and lead a full life. I enjoy caregiving because I am making a difference in someone's life , be it small or large it makes my heart happy to be able to make someone smile and help someone in need. I am most proud of my family and the values I have instilled in them to give what you can or help others. I am also proud of going back for training and getting my C.N.A. license.

I believe I am a grwt caregiver because I have a compassion an patience for people. My grandmother has Parkinson's disease and I always wished I could care for here instead of removing her from Home. But honestly it was best because she not only does likes the place she likes the people gave gotta close to a lot. But I am a outgoing bubbly kind of person an love to work with the elderly I am nurse delegated an have trading in mental health an dementia I have worked with memory care center, assisted living and skilled care.

About 20 years ago, we got the best news of all time. After 5 years of steady infertility work, we welcomed our son into the world! Having had a baby and giving it a great deal of thought, I gave up my job in IT. Soon after, a close friend asked me to help out with her Mom who suffered from Parkinson's disease. Another life changing event! I learned that computers would break, I'd fix them but not much reward in that. When people break, I was all in! And here I am still going strong. The best part? In many cases, the clients and their families and friends became my best friends for years to come.

Caring for the elderly is something I am very passionate about. I learned early on that providing quality care improves quality of life. Being able to see just how much I make a difference has been immensely rewarding for me. My most recent experience has been in post surgery care and this too is very rewarding as I get to be an encourager and an enforcer so that patients can get stronger and live on their own.
