My name is Arlette, My journey working with seniors started when I cared for my grandmother when she needed the help about 10 years ago. After that I noticed I enjoyed caring for the elderly and spending time with them. I love listening to their stories and learning from their experiences. I see them and treat them as my family. I like to help them get the best quality of life under their circumstances. I feel a sense of accomplishment every time it's time for me to leave their house and they have a smile on their faces. That lets me know they are happy and feel safe under my care. I have worked with people suffering from different illness like: Alzheimer's and dementia, cancer, hospice, C Diff. I like to have a good and close relationship with my client's families and work together with them. I can provide letters of recommendation if they are needed.

What makes me feel great about being a caregiver is that the client is loyal,and always happy. I first became interested in health care when my mother was ill and needed care herself and realized that I had a real passion for helping others. At Long Beach Memorial I was know as the "sitter whisper" because whenever they had a difficult patient they would alway assign me that patient and by the end of the day the patient would no longer require restraints or was completely compliant and friendly. They always ask what was my secret and I would say I simply listen to what their needs are.
