I have also worked in home health and have cared for patients that have had strokes, dementia and cancer. My passion is making each and every one of my patients know that I respect them as a person, I value their life experiences, where they came from and the wisdom they have gained over the years. My personality is always extremely cheerful, positive and upbeat and it is contagious! I looked forward to seeing and interacting with them and they with me! My dad had Alzheimer's and I assisted in his care and managed his medical care until his death. I was his voice when he no longer had one. Over the years I have also helped take care of grandparents and other family members. This gave me the experience and ignited the fire and passion I have for elder care, I am their biggest "cheerleader" and best friend but also know how to encourage and be firm when it is tied directly to their medical well being!

I was attracted to being a caregiver because I play a vital role in the life of another person. It can requires dedication, compassion, stamina and hard work. In addition, I am keenly aware that providing care for another person is uncharted territory. And most people are unprepared for this role. There are no courses on how to be a good caregiver. There is no textbook on what to expect. Somehow, I have figured it out. I learn everything I can and get creative when I have to. As well as, I do my best at all times.
