Ive alway been a caregiver at heart but when my mom suffered with dementia she was very difficult and just thought everyone deserves the same heart filled care as i gave her I was als blessed to be with one couple 8 years he had mobilit issues and she had dementia I wa with them till the end he passed 3 years ago and she passed 3weeks ago I bathed them shoped for them made all appointment and took them to the dr. Hello my name is Ravette Pickens im 35yrs old from Cincinnati ohio. I live in Douglas county . I am married with a 14yr old son and im the oldest of 7 so im pretty much use to being the person others depend on and leaning on me for support. I started out in the health field in 2008 working with the disabled people.. From the ages of 5 and up. I worked with people With autism I work with people with behavior issues, CP cervical, to people with diabetes cancer Strokes Alzheimer dementia I work with people with catheters G tubes pretty much all the above I love what I do I started out as just a support provider and now I'm a Certified nursing assistant, now currently state certified Patient Care Tech, I am currently in school for Radiology Tech. I definitely love my health career and plan on staying in this field for a while

I originally became a caregiver to make sure my mom was going to be well taken care of when she got a certain age. Some years ago my girlfriend got sick and needed assistance with someone who could help her with feeding, dressing, hair care and house cleaning. Not knowing what I know today back then, I was still able to fulfill that gap and enjoyed myself while doing it. What I like the most is the smile that I leave on my clients face daily. My personal achievement I am proud of is completing my certification. Not only am I able to take care of my friend and/or my mom when need be but I now know a lot more than I did when I started school. I am 56 years of age.
