Since I was raised from birth by my grandparents, who also took care of my handicapped mom since 10 years before my birth, I've had a lifetime of being in an environment of senior care and disabled care. Starting in high school, I had a larger role in caring for my grandad and mom with medical issues, and this role increased as my grandad had cancer and various treatments for it as well as increased hospital stays. I have a great, genuine desire to help people, and I'm skilled at it too. God has continued growing my skills of care and problem-solving as I continue caring for my 4 step-kids and husband, and my mom when needed. I also have 2 dogs and a cat, so I'm fine being around pets; I have a lot of previous experience caring for dogs, cats, and horses when working for families as a nanny.

Hello, My name is Jessica and I've been an LPN for 4 almost 5years. What made me become a nurse, is when my grandmother had a stroke which caused her to walk and talk all over again. I gained interest in learning how to make the recovery possible and would help her with bathing and other needs that I could assist with. From that point, my mind was set into becoming a nursing once I grew up and finished school. I made that possible in 2013, after graduating I've been working with geriatrics since I've become a nurse. I love working with the elderly, and helping those in need of regaining their physical abilities. My most honorable achievement is becoming a successful nurse and a mother of 3 handsome boys, which is my world. I am in process of going back to school to gain my Associates in RN.

I am a natural born care-giver. I grew up emotionally taking care of my mom who had a mental illness. From there I became a stay at home mom nurturing and sacrificing for the welfare of my child. It is a trait that comes natural and automatically. I have cared for many individuals as a care-giver/house keeper over the years. My longest job was caring for a bed ridden elderly farmer in deep depression. He did not talk, wore diapers, did not walk and aspirated when he ate so his food had to be pureed. I stayed with him for 2 years until his death. I am attracted to the home atmosphere where it is more comfortable to care for an individual in their familiar environment. I am a very empathetic, nurturing person who tries to treat others the way I want to be treated. I have proved to be trustworthy and dependable.

I have been caring for seniors in one capacity or another most of my life. I worked in a nursing home when I was 18 for about a year. Although it is not the career path I eventually followed, caring for people has always been something that I truly enjoyed. I was a volunteer at a local nursing home here in Cartersville, for several years. I have also cared for both of my elderly grandmothers, one of which lives with us now. After 10 years working in IT, I was ready for a change,. I graduated from Coosa Valley Tech with a certification as a CNA in 2009. I very much enjoy this work as it allows me to make a difference in peoples lives and make their last years more comfortable living in their own homes. After working for a very nice gentleman from 2009 until 2012, he passed away. I began working for a couple in their 80's and 90's. The wife had a stroke about 8 yrs. ago and required help with bathing, dressing, and ambulation. Unfortunately as time moved on they began to require someone 24 hrs. a day, which I am unable to provide. I helped them find someone to live-in and today was my last day. On to the next adventure.
