I have been certified since 1997 but my experience from caring for my family members has been since my teenage years. THE REASON I BECAME A CAREGIVER WAS BECAUSE GROWING UP I TOOK CARE OF MY BABY BROTHER,WHO WAS BORN WITH HIS INTESTINES ON THE OUTSIDE. PLUS,FOLLOWING HIS ILLNESS,MY GRANDMOTHER AND MOTHER HAD STROKES AND NEEDED CAREGIVERS. SOME OF THE NURSES AND CNA'SINSPIRED ME TO GET PAID DOING SOMETHING I WAS PASSIONATE ABOUT.

I'm a very kind person. I always loved helping people. And once my grandma gotten ill I was taking care of her. I stayed with her so it was everyday for me. I enjoy being a caregiver because of the love and compassion. It's always someone who care even when you might think no one do. I understand and listens. When I was volunteering at the nursing home, everyone know I was there because I wanted to be. It just a good thing to do I'm proud of the person I am and everything I've done for the nursing home and being there for them when no one was.
