I became a caregiver because I love taking care of people, it gives me a pleasure to see that I can help people who can't help themselves. My personal achievement that I'm proud of is that I was able to be a caregiver for my mom who had brain cancer but passed last June due to her illness,and still worked as a c.n.a in geriatrics.

I have years of experience taking care of my father who was chronically ill. I am currently employed as a medical assistant and I have daily interaction with geriatric patients. I am attracted to being a care giver because of the relationship I had with my father through his illness, it taught me that when someone is going through that type of situation in their life that, this is when they need love the most. I enjoy seeing my care go to someone who is in need, even though some people may not even know that they are getting the care it is all the same in my heart. I am proud to say that I achieve personal goals daily by stepping out of my comfort zone to go the extra mile.

I had my own daycare for 20 years. I been taking care of children since my first brother was born when I was 6. Other people's children at age 13, newborn and a 12-year-olds. I have babysat or I have been a surrogate mother to many children when they needed it. Was a Foster Mom for many years. Love people, but have a special aptitude for children, elderly and handicapped. I became an care giver at the age of 14 i have 5 sisters and 1 brother in the oldest so i always had to take care of them being a care giver but it really wasn't until my sick grandmother moved in with us she was bed bound nurses use to come to our home and help her with all her everyday living needs i would often help the nurses with the duties and when they weren't there i would take care of my grandmother. I like the fact that i can help someone that's unable to help them self while being compassionate and making them happy. an accomplishment im happy with is getting certified as a nursing assistant im already a pca, hha. im a very fun out going caring person i truly enjoy being a caregiver and when i get older an cant help myself i hope to have someone take as good care of me as i took of other people. My grandmother passed away but i no she would be very happy to see im still continuing working as a CAREGIVER.
