I am prior military. While attending grossmont college, I was the president of the student veterans organization. I thought it would be a great idea, back in 2008, to have our veterans go into the community and help in assisted living facilities and skilled nursing facilities. After seeing how short staffed, over worked, under paid, and how these patients felt, I knew I needed to help. My children and I would paint their nails, do their hair, play bingo, assist in sporting events like the, in-house Kentucky Derby, with stick horses, play music, feed them and provide comfort during the holidays, make mobiles for patients one their ceilings, for the ones that could not get out of bed, and provide comfort for so many people that do not have family or friends to visit them.

I feel I am compassionate and have always enjoyed be around and helping the elderly, I worked in a nursing house for three years when I was younger and did home care and helped take take of my mother before she died.I have also cleaned for the elderly for over 20 years. When I was young , being a help to others wa s very important to me. Witnessing suffering when I could make a difference was the reason for my choice to be a Medical Professional and I went to college to be a Registered Respiratory Therapist. I worked in the Heart Clinic at St Luke's Regional Medical Ctr in Boise Idaho, the Heart Transplant unit in Salt Lake City, Utah; and an LTAC Center in the San Francisco area for individuals who were difficult to wean off the ventilator and move on with their lives. A very rewarding history and it was a joy to see each patient go home with a new lease on life and move forward.

I am very caring. I'm a hard worker, and I dont like to give up. If I don't understand or dont know something I ask questions to make sure I'm doing it right. I am quick to learn. I love being a caregiver mostly because i like to make sure they are comfortable and stress free. I want to make sure they are safe. I want their family to know they are taken care of, so they don't stress as well. I have achieved many things but being able to be there for my patients is my personal achievement that I am proud of. When they know I will be there for them even when they are surrounded by support or family, I love that they can always have me around to help the patient/family out.

Hello everyone, my name is Dayley. I've been an active CNA since 2018. I graduated high school with my certification and within a few months received my Med Tech certification. I've worked in several different types of care facilities since then. I specialize in dementia/alzheimer patients, but have experience in home health care and assisted living as well. I'm outgoing, fun, and organized. My passion for this work comes from a deep bond that I hold with my own grandmother and to be able to share that caring side of myself with my client and their families. I found my passion for healthcare through giving birth to my son and the amazing help everyone provided to me during such a stressful time. My love and strive to be a caregiver I got from seeing my grandmother switch to and from nursing homes. There were some good ones and there were some terrible ones. Seeing the ones who treated her terrible like she wasn't a person and hearing how it hurt her, that is why I chose to do caregiving. Working with people in a home care. Or residental setting can be challenging but also rewarding at the same time. To be s successful caregiver it not only takes book smarts but a few essential qualties only certain people have that makes them stand away from the rest. I posess the following qualities and that is why I feel I stand out from the rest. it is essential that a caregiver feel the desire to want to help. By showing both empathy and compassion i am letting my resident know that they care about the person and want to do what they can to help them. Make them feel important and at that moment the most important. Patience. Is a virtue many do not posess. When you work with someone who is depending on you to help them with things they can no longer do it is important that you are patient and understanding. It helps to sometimes put yourself in the other person's shoes and see what it might be like to ask people for help. When a person is rushed that is when mistakes happen and injuy and accident occur. I am someone that can be counted on to be there. If I says i am going to be there to provide cares every Thursday morning, then inwill be there every Thursday unless there is an emergency. Those needing home care services need a reliable and dependable caregiver. Trustworthy. Most people need care services are in a vulnerable position. They are inviting someone into their home/room to be near their valuables. A good caregiver is someone who is trustworthy in this regard, as well as in being trusted to keep the client's information confidential. Flexible. As with most things in life, home care needs may change and unexpected events can happen. A good caregiver will be prepared to go with the flow, being flexible, so that they continue to provide good caregive, even if a rigid schedule isn't being followed.
