I wanted to become a care giver after caring for my grandmother who has dementia and my mother after she broke her ankle and became non weight bearing. I was told by family that I was very good and a natural and should become a nurse, but I'd much rather do more of the same as I did with my mom and grandmother.

I've been working as a caregiver all my life , my whole family is either military or medical personnel, I have always been around the medical field growing up , I have taken care of several relatives needing care and have also taken care of others through a program and I've worked in D.D facilities , I've worked on the floor , in home , and in small settings , I have skills in cooking cleaning , organization, time management, routine schedule, med programs , behavior plans , life skills , etc.., I have references on all of these, I love giving elderly a chance to keep living their lives at home lending a hand with them staying in their homes and feeling useful to themselves gives me a sense of good and it only seems right that they get to stay at home as long as they are safe to do so and have help with their daily needs if they need it , I'm 50 years old and have been working in and out of the medical field for at least 35 years and enjoy the feeling of success when a client feels good about themselves it's the small accomplishments that mean the most to someone that's feeling down or doubtful of their own abilities, I like to serve and help others it helps me believe that there is good intentions in the world , some families don't have these options without a worker or caregiver , so this is why I love to be a caregiver to pass on what my whole family has for years , hope and love and pride , to help others is the best feeling you can have , and the smile and thank you that you receive are so amazing and lift your spirits you can't help but lift theirs in return
