I am a mother of 3 little girls and love to spend my time taking care of everyone! I have been a caregiver for 4+ years and really love the whole experience. It's more than a job to me , it's a rewarding way to make someone else feel like they have a reason .

Hi I am Heather. I have been doing some sort of caregiving since I was 16 years old. I love to take care of and help people. I adapt easily to new situations. I am also going to school to become a skilled care giving nurse. I am most proud of getting my medical Assistant certification. What I enjoy most is learning about new people and places.

I want family members to feel like I am an extension of their family, someone they can rely on when most necessary. I was attracted to caregiving by the reward that comes from helping others. Seeing people that were in need for care, when family members simply don't have time, money, or emotional longevity that is required in long-term assisted living and care. I am very proud of raising my two teenage daughters as a single mother, while working multiple jobs. It was very difficult, but highly rewarding seeing them grow, and exhibiting the same work ethic and love I try to possess.

I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Kansas since October 7th 2018. I am also a certified Home Health Aide, Certified Medication Assistant, and Emergency Medical Technician. I currently work at Wesley Medical Center, as well as PRN at the Villa Maria in Mulvane KS. I'm a very out going person. I can make friends where ever I go. When I was younger I lost my grandpa and his care givers were not the best and ever since then I always wanted to either be a care giver or nurse. What I enjoy most is giving the family relief that their loved one is cared for and not mistreated. A personal achievement would honestly be my kids. I'm a single mom of three and the past year I've been doing it all on my own and I've proven I can do it no matter what.

I became an LPN nurse because I love helping others. I am very compassionate. I think outside the box. I am a problem solver by nature. I am able to take charge of a situation if needed. I can strike a conversation with just about anyone. I was on the dean's list while taking classes. I live in the country and have a small hobby farm.

I have been a CNA for 4 years and I love every moment of it. I love being able to help people when they are unable to fully achieve their daily lives and make it as easy as possible. I enjoy most seeing the smiles on people's faces and the happiness that comes from the little help I have done for them. I am very proud that I got my CNA and am about to start furthering my education even more.

I have been a caregiver for over 10 years and have found it to be the most rewarding and enjoyable position I've held. I very much enjoy connecting one on one with people and I get a great sense of happiness knowing that I am directly helping a person who needs my help. I have been described as extremely patient and calm, and I find that those traits greatly help my ability to be a good caregiver. When people begin to age and/or their health deteriorates, life generally moves at a slower pace for them. Their ability to move quickly and to think quickly declines and it is very important for caregivers to be patient with them. That is something that comes naturally for me. I have learned how to balance the tasks of offering the person my physical help, and my companionship. I recognize that companionship is a very important part of this job! As far as the physical help I offer to my clients (cleaning, meal prep, toileting, grocery shopping, etc...) I am not one to sit idle. There is always something to be done around a home and, rather than watch tv (unless that's what the client wants me to do now and then!) or play on my cell phone, I will happily do them. Growing up with a mother who always cooked meals from scratch, I learned a great deal about cooking. I love to cook and bake, and am always up for making good, healthy meals from scratch. Whether I'm assisting my clients while they work in the kitchen, or doing the bulk of the cooking myself, I am great in the kitchen and love to provide great food for my clients. I can offer very satisfied reference, whether they come from the families of past clients or from fellow caregivers I've worked beside in the past. I am flexible schedule-wise and am used to the flexibility that is necessary to work with a rotating team of caregivers.

I have a somewhat goofy personality, I like to joke around and sometimes be silly, but I'm very good with the elderly. I'm very kind and understanding about them not being able to do things on their own or that they may take a little longer. I don't rush them. And they tend to appreciate that. I decided to be a CNA in 2002 because I was tired of working as a waitress and needed a better paying job to support my children, but I also enjoy being around elderly people and talking to them, learning about their lives, what they did for a living, their families and I LOVE looking at their old pictures and helping them walk down memory lane. I think an achievement I'm proud of is paying 50,000 dollars cash for our house. My husband got a settlement and that's what we did with it. My PERSONAL achievement that I'm proud of is of course my children but also being able to survive the death of my 5 year old daughter and to be able to tell parents how important it is to keep medications locked up. There's a lot of things I'm proud of in my life, way too many to list here.

My first priority and goal as a caregiver is to build a rapport with the individual that Im working with. I strive to support and assist them in any way i can so that they can be as independent as they possibly can . I have the experience and capabilities to remain calm and make quick decisions in emergency type situations that sometimes involve CPR and first aid. Although my certifications are not up to date I have had CPR and first aid training/certification classes at least 5 times in the past 10 years when I worked for a former employer.
