My name is Lucinda (Cindy). I worked in care homes taking care of elderly residents for 27 years. I also worked at a hospital as a CNA for four years. And I recently worked as a DSP in a group home setting for special needs clients. Unfortunately I had to quit because the schedule no longer was working for me. I enjoy helping and caring for people. It is something I have done most of my life.

I enjoy working with people and most enjoy jobs where you have one-on-one interaction with others.Am enjoying taking care of elder family members and would like to help others in this way. I love older adults and feel you can get along well with a variety of elders.

I am a caregiver because it is something I have found to unexpectedly be meant to do in life. I have an understanding of what it is for a family to endure this stage in a loved ones life and I am here not sure because it's my job but because I can make this time less stressful. I want only for a family to be able to take in these moments because it's important. I view my pay as compensation for my time. I cook and I clean and I communicate. I am detail oriented and open minded to every families individuality. I am always going to be coming up with things to do and am naturally creative. I have experience with dementia patient care and all that that comes along with it. I am capable of transfers and know how to utilize a gait belt. I can assist with bathing toileting medication reminders laundry running errands following diet restrictions in meal prep health monitoring following a care plan and communication with doctor patient and family members if requested. I am a solid emotional support base and stable companion. I genuinely care for people. I practice strict covid quarantine precautions to keep my patients safe and am on the list for a vaccine during stage two. Caregiving has always come naturally to me, even as a child I was drawn to caring for others. I was a CNA for over 22 years.I am a certified clinical medical assistant at Menorah Medical Center. I currently work for a group of doctors at Statland Medical Group . I have a vast knowledge of the medical field. Such as working with all ages and all disabilities. I am familiar with peri care, transferring, meal planning and prepping, assisting with showering, dressing, vital signs and excercise. I am a current college student, who has grown up with a cousin who has Down Syndrome. Through that experience and constant learning about what DS is like, I have found the disability community a rather homey place. I like trying new things, and new adventures, and care-giving seems like such a great opportunity to learn a new aspect of life. I am positive, caring, and never give up. I spent the summer of 2016 in a remote town of Harmons, Jamaica. While living there for 3 months, we would travel to the nearby infirmary. At the infirmary I built upon relationships I had made the previous summer. My weekly time at the infirmary is truly indescribable, seeing the pain and anguish these sweet people are living in, yet they are the most joyful, will forever give me hope and light a fire in me to live my best life. I am so proud of my friends in the infirmary, I'm proud of my cousin, and I am proud of my sweet friend who also has DS. I love to love on the broken, or the weary. I just truly have a heart for the ones who are often over looked in any sense, and even the ones who need a little extra love in the rough seasons of life. I'm easy to connect with, and truly excited to see where CareLinx leads me.
