I have been a caregiver all my life - either for family or for work. I LOVE working with the elderly. I am able to help with meal preparation, baths, homemaking, escort, and respite care services. I love dogs and kids. I am most proud of the smiles I can put the faces of the elderly that I serve. I am a homebody and enjoy watching tv and spending time with my family and friends. I have a great deal of compassion for the elderly. My father in law convinced me to try helping others as I do he and my mother in law. I think nursing homes are terrible places for them to spend their golden years and hospitals are even worse. If I can help anyone avoid them I like to try.

I have decided to become a caregiver at this point in my life because I have been caring in one way or another in my jobs whether it was in my restaurant jobs to my previous personal caring of individuals. I love working with people and helping in anyway I possibly can. To me this kind of work is rewarding in ways that cant be explained. I guess you can say my personal achievement would be my raising from my parents and the things that were taught to me as a child. Respect, pride, honesty, and to always do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I have also had to care for my grandfather who died with Alzheimer's. And have cared for a man who was hit by a drunk driver and broke his right knee and left arm, he needed 24hr care and I cared for him for almost 9 months before he was able to do for himself again. After that as short time later my husband received a chemical burn on his foot which covered his ankle down to almost his toes. He underwent 3 skin grafts and I learned how to clean and bandage those wounds to keep him from getting an infection. I also worked for a lady whose husband had a major stroke. I've been in healthcare since 2020 at the start of the pandemic. I absolutely love being able to help people and assist in whatever I can. I've made many friends with clients over the past year, and loved being able to hear their stories and have conversations with them.
