I have successfully completed a training program and state examination at Morning Star Academy-School of Allied Health in Rockville, MD in 2012. Outside of homecare, my hobbies include taking care of my 3 yo son, practicing special effects makeup, painting and drawing. Previously, I worked in long-term care facilities located in Virginia. I have been working in homecare consistently since 2015. My experience in homecare has been rewarding and less stressful. Having worked in the healthcare field for over 31 years. Caregiving for 27 years. I have found assisting people to either regain or maintain their health has been rewarding. However my most rewarding has been assisting the elderly as well as physical and or mentally challenged meet their health goals. I started my career as a caregiver at the age of 16, my first job was at a nursing home, this was before having to be certified. All trainig was on the job. In 1980 I recieved my first certification as a Geriactic aide. In 1990 I recieved my certification as Certified Nursing Certificate. I had a child with special needs in 1985, I started working with people with disabilities, I worked with ARC for 26 years. I view caregiving as not only a job, but also as a gift from God. love helping people. I am a Christian, I teach Sunday school . I recieved a certificate in alchohol and drug addiction in 2017. My desire is to start a support group at my church.

I am very energetic, well-organized, I love to get things done, positive and I love everything to be CLEAN and in its place. I started my caregiver experience by looking after an older lady when I was in college. After that my mother had dementia and I was her caregiver for ten years. For 3 months I took care of my husband aunt who had stage 4th cancer. I continued to care for other adults. I enjoy being a companion -- helping people feel valued and need it is very important to me. I being in a marriage for 27 years, have 5 kids, very stable in my relationship with my husband and my kids. Love education , enjoy serving people.
