I have worked as a Caregiver over 20years, doing Home Healthcare, Foster Care and in Skilled Nursing Facilities. I have experience with children as well as adults and elderly with Autism, Alzheimers, Dementia, Hypertension, Diabetes, Asthma and too many others to name. Puzzles, games, or just talking about memories that keep them thinking. I like to think outside the box and get the job done. I have a great sense of humor and my clients feel at ease with me. I'm able assist with activities of daily living including companionship, grooming, bathing, dressing, meal prep, light housekeeping, laundry, ambulation, rides to appointments, medication reminders, etc. I have a gentle bedside manner and pleasant demeanor. I was a CNA at a long term care facility. I also worked in a Alzheimer's and dementia unit. I have great empathy and compassion for the elderly. They can teach us so much! I'm proud of being a helpful hand when someone needs it. I had a man who was suffering from dementia and a septic toe that ultimately took his life... but I would sing to him and it would calm him down. He passed in my arms. I'll never forget him. I'm proud that was able to bring a little amount of joy into his world while he was experiencing his worst.
