Hello! My name is Kimberly and I have years of experience caring for the elderly and patients with traumatic brain injuries. I am very compassionate about what I do and have a lot of patient and care to give my clients.

I have always loved helping and taking care of people as a child. I realized it was a talent I had when I grew up and I have loved it ! I feel what makes me a great caregiver are a few reasons: I'm experienced in this field, I'm patient and I know what to expect and how to handle whatever occurs from the job. I became a caregiver because it was similar to the very first job I had, which was a patient attendant at U of M Hospital, that was a rewarding job that I enjoyed, and ever since then I've been in this field most of my time working. I like being a caregiver because I like helping people, and the job is very rewarding despite things that may occur on the job. I have my CNA diploma.

I believe what helps me be a great caregiver is that I treat each person as if they were apart of my own family, I have a very warm and welcoming heart. I've always had a joy for caring for others, doing for others is part of being a good person. I enjoy the happiness that I am able to bring to someone's life.

I"m a Certified Nurse Assistant who go above and beyond for my patients. I'm a active listener and a fast leaner making me more than just a caregiver. My patience, empathy and observation skill make me a special caregiver. I enjoy doing sometime they cannot do for themself.

What makes me a great caregiver, is the love and passion I have to be one to care for another. I enjoy doing it, im not in it for the paycheck, I do it because it makes me feel good knowing I can help someone. I always grew up wanting to help others in one way or another.. I enjoy the smiles I can give someone simply by being there to assist them, knowing someone enjoys my care makes my heart swell. My biggest personal achievement I am proud of, is, my son.

I have been in the healthcare field for over 5 years now. I am passionate about what I do, I feel that it is my calling. I am proficient in many skills such as home care, long term care, assisted living, etc. Through the University of Michigan - Dearborn, I have my certification in health communication as well. I am patient, kind, and genuinely compassionate to all my care recipients. I enjoy the conversation and rewarding feeling that comes with caring for others. I am a proud alumni of the University of Michigan - Dearborn with a Bachelor's of Science in Health and Human Services - Public Health. This is a personal achievement that I am truly proud of.

I am truly passionate about caring for others, whether it's children or seniors or someone with a disability; it means a lot to me to be able to do so. Over the years I have gained exceptional skills to be able to provide families with care for their loved ones. I am honest and dependable and always on time. I started out in this field at a very young age and have built so many relationships during my journey. What attracted me to patient and client care initially was my genuine love for caring for others and the ability to make a difference. I've become experienced in memory care, dementia care, long term care, hospice, youth care, developmentally disabled care, and general patient care which I did through Michigan Medicine. My name is Wanda J. Martindale born in Michigan but raised in St. Louis MO. In 1999 the company that I worked for downsized. my job position was an administrative assistant. I became a Career Foster Parent house 65 girls from 2002 until 2016. I still have communication with many of the girls. To work with teenage girls was placed in my heart and I could not do it except God would lead guide and direct. as a mission statement I prayed that God would guide me with each child It was my responsibility that I would guide in the most positive way and the rewards are when thy come back and say thank you. that reaches the heart. Upon my recent move to Michigan I decided to look for work there are many choices but, While in St. Louis I began to reach out in my neighborhood to seniors I was the block captain. Once I went to Caring Partners and had a few assignments I fell in love with working with Seniors. In 1994 I took care of my grandfather which I enjoyed. My goal is to take care of Seniors I wake up each day thankful and want to serve the best that I can. Seniors have pride and dignity and should not be treated with the upmost respect. I love my mother and thank God for her daily. Enjoy everyday living tomorrow is not promised .

I feel as though I am a worthy caregiver because I treat the patients as if they're my family. I care for them and try to understand them so that I know how to work with them properly. Understanding the patients is to communicate with them and ask questions, so that we become familiar with each other. I became a caregiver to take stress from those who are not capable of keeping a close eye on their family members who they trust facilities with. In which I could relate to, because I also had a family member I would worry about and wished someone kept them company, so I wouldn't love anything more than to take that worry from someone if I can. I enjoy being a caregiver because I enjoy interacting with the elderly and showing them that people do care about them,because not a lot of elders are appreciated as they should be. They deserve to be comfortable and safe when they are not in the care of their own family. I've also had prior experience with working with the elderly, while in school, through a program called Externship, in which I am very proud of.
