I became a caregiver because I love to serve and help the needy. Before I started a job as a caregiver, I volunteered at the Pre-Ops of Sinai hospital in Baltimore forsix (6) hours, 3 days a week.I care about people, I am a very loving and caring person, full of empathy and I am learning so much in this chosen career from my clients. I am full of joy, I love to sing, read them poems and sometimes we dance together. I love to dress them up. We play cards sometime and some of them watch their favorite game show on T.V and cooking is also a delight to me. I am a great companion on my one -one cases because I love to be fulfilled at work too.

I am happiest and most fulfilled while caring for others. I fell in love with nursing in 1978 when I started my first job as a Nursing Assistant. I found that I was not only doing a job, I was caring for a person with an extensive life history that I could learn from. People who had family who loved them but were no longer able to care for them. I went on to get my LPN in 1986 and finally RN in 2012. I have provided care in Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Centers, private care in homes, Home Care through agencies and have cared for my patients and their families with integrity and compassion. Aging parents have caused me to reevaluate the need for flexibility and the availability to now also provide care for them. This means the typical nursing block schedule is no longer a good fit for my families needs. I will continue to provide compassionate care for others but it will look different than it has in the past.

I am a current student at Metropolitan State University where I am doing my bachelor in Human Service with the commitment to helping others in the health care industry.

I am a 53 year old female that has been in Healthcare for 20+ years. I am a certified nursing assistant. I truly enjoy working with people and this is definitely a passion of mine. I am married to a wonderful man and together we have raised two amazing children who are now young adults on their own. I lost my job of 8 years recently due to the company down sizing. I cared for my grandmother for six years and my mother for a year when she broke her hip I also had a client I cared for until he passed away in December and I have worked with hospice several times once here with Tom and in Ohio I worked with hospice with several clients I just enjoy being around the seniors they have so much to offer and listening to their stories I really enjoy I also enjoy showing them things that I do and I like to involve them in things that I do and have them show me things that they used to do and do it I just get a lot of joy out of seeing them smile and listen to them
