I know this sounds lame, but I always knew I wanted to be a nurse. I love the rewarding feeling I get from giving. Now, when I was a kid that was another story. I carried all of my toys in a brown grocery bag and you would have to fight me to get me to share! I love listening and learning from others. I feel that this has only improved my caregiving skills. I have worked with all ages, races, religions, disabilities and I treat each person the same. We all deserve dignity and respect regardless of our situation. I'm kind, but love to laugh and have a good time. Most importantly I know how to act appropriate for the situation. I became a CNA because of personal experience with people taking care of my mom and how they were with her and our family was amazing. I've always wanted to be like they were to other families. I love getting to know all sorts of different people and hearing their stories. My biggest achievement when it comes to being a CNA is when family members come up to me and tell me how much they truly appreciate my help. I have been an aid now for just a little under three years and I have loved every minute of it.
